2012!  The end of the world! Or something.

2011 was a great year.  It started with a 1960's sex farce and ended with a Regency romance.  In between it was filled with meeting tons of people, readings, workshops, a jaunt to Elsinore castle, and an even deeper appreciation of what I choose to do for a living.

May the coming year bring you all peace, happiness and success.  I wish nothing but the best for all of us!

Only two more weeks left to check out this lovely production of PRIDE & PREJUDICE at the Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD.  It's a been such a lovely experience working with this cast.  Getting to know the DC Metro theatre community has been such a treat.  Some amazingly talented people working in a thriving arts community.  I hope I get to work here again down the road.  Until then, if you are in the area be sure to check us out!

Check out this short film I did earlier this year.  It's making the festival circuit and recently won BEST SCREENPLAY at the Houston Comedy Film Festival.

Penn Shakes has come and gone.  Thanks to all the people of PSF who made that experience memorable and fun.

I'm excited to undertake my next adventure which will yet another Mr. Darcy at the ROUNDHOUSE THEATRE in Bethesda Maryland.  Under the stewardship of Blake Robison, this P&P will be, perhaps, the most theatrical of the three I've done.  I don't want to give away any spoilers, but Netherfield, Longbourn, and Pemberley should prove more theatrically realized than your standard doors and chairs.  This will be a great Holiday addition to the D.C. Area theater scene, so if you are around be sure to come and check it out!

Spring Update 04/30/2011

Dear God, I haven't made updates around here in quite some time.   Let me dust off the cobwebs, and make known what I've been doing these last few months.

For the last 6 weeks I've been working off and on with the LARK PLAY DEVELOPMENT CENTER.  Lisa Rothe -  Director of Offsite Programs and Partnerships, and a very good friend of mine -  got me involved with their PLAYGROUND series which helps playwrights develop their work in a sort of shotgun fashion.  I then participated in one of their STUDIO RETREATS, helping develop Lila Rose Kaplan's 100 PLANES.  The picture across is from that process.  I had a great time, and the staged reading went wonderfully.  I could not be prouder of the work we did.  The LARK is a great place.  I'm continually impressed at what they do.

An old colleague and friend of mine Matthew-Lee Erlbach asked me to be a part of a web series he's created.  ROGER, THE CHICKEN, tells the story of ultra-hipster Roger and his adventures of living in the big city as a misunderstood artist.  It was a total gas and will post it up as soon as it comes out!

Last, but not least, I will be heading out this summer to the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.  I'll be reprising Mr. Darcy in PRIDE & PREJUDICE and playing Laertes in HAMLET.   Once again, I'll get out of the New York City humidity.  WINNING.

Pioneer Theatre Company's BLACK COMEDY 02/08/2011

I was just able to get the teaser trailer for Pioneer Theatre Company's BLACK COMEDY.  It's a great look to see all the physical stuff I did in the show, including a bad-ass stair fall with the help of Dale Anthony Girard, stunt guy extraordinaire.

Sadly, this video was taken during an invited dress and many of the set elements are not in place.  The design was by Bill Barclay and I'm sure he would appreciate the shout out.  That big blue thing in the middle was later to be textured and integrated.

Yes, the title is called GOING DOWN.  No, I will not comment any further on said title.  I will say that I loved working with the crew of this short film that should be out in the next few weeks.

I'm always delighted to carry a pistol with a silencer attached.

This summer, BYU TV came down to film PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and MACBETH to promote USF.  They taped the shows and conducted interviews and were just generally awesome during their stay.  Here, finally, are some of the materials that are starting to appear.  Pretty cool stuff, and pretty fun to watch.  I love being turned into a graphic image.  So so so cool.
